I Need to Go Back and Stay in Yellowstone
I drove through Yellowstone National Park on my way to my campsite near Grand Teton. Along the way, I didn’t see any Bison, there were huge crowds of people at all the geysers, and the roadside views were of mostly thick forest. I need to go back to Yellowstone and camp away from the crowds and really give the park a chance to shine. However, I love Grand Teton. The lake and the mountains in the background are amazing.

My campsite was nothing special, but it served me well. Hard to find fault with that.

The following picture was taken about 15 miles from the filming location of the 1953 movie, “Shane”. It won the Oscar for Best Color Cinematography. It’s ranked #45 Greatest Movie of All Time and #3 Western by the American Film Institute.
“Shane. Shane! Come back!”

M and my top 2 favorite places. Love Yellowstone.
We were there in June, 2015 and happened to spy a big horn sheep resting on a mountain slope as we drove by. He was motionless and we’d have missed him except he moved his head the very moment we drove by and it caught my eye. It was midmorning and he was perfectly situated to catch the warm sun. We watched him for several minutes. His head was massive, his horns impressive; and there he lay soaking up the sun’s rays.
